"That, right there, is why we do this show," Dr. Phil tells the couple. "It's so great to see you guys doing so much better, and you look great! You even look kind of rested!"

"Well, I weigh 20 pounds less, and I've been doing fun stuff and not feeling terrible about it, and just watching my daughter blossom," Liz tells him.

"It was just amazing to see what Mackenzie, the intervenor, was able to accomplish in just seven months," Dr. Phil says. "Were you surprised how much could be accomplished?"

"It's what I wanted for her, but you don't know until you do it, but I really didn't expect her to make that much progress that fast," Liz says.

"When we first aired this story, the outpouring of concern from our viewers was just overwhelming," Dr. Phil tells them.

He invites Steve Davidson on stage. Steve is the president of The Dr. Phil Foundation, which began taking donations for Liz and George's family after their appearance on the show. "The response to The Dr. Phil Foundation has been absolutely phenomenal," Steve reports.

"Based on those donations, we would like to present y'all with a check to continue with these intervenors and continue your work, and this comes from all of our viewers who have contributed," Dr. Phil says, handing the couple a check for $270,000.
