How would you feel if an airline banned you for how you looked? According to two young women, they’ve been banned for life from flying Southwest Airlines. Sarah and Nisreen made national news when they were escorted off a plane because they say the airline had a problem with them because they were “young and decent-looking” and their flight attendants were “middle-aged.” Southwest denies treating the women unfairly because of their appearance and says the women used vulgar language, obscene gestures and aggressive behavior. Joining the conversation is Kyla, who says she was told by Southwest that her outfit was too skimpy, and two other passengers who say the airline booted them because they were women. Then, McKay is a 15-year-old on a mission to end cussing. He founded a No Cussing Club at his high school and wants to inspire others to stop swearing and examine the power of words. McKay’s campaign has even motivated his mayor to pass a proclamation for a No Cussing Week in his hometown. Don’t miss reactions from the teen’s family and classmates! If it’s happening now, Dr. Phil is going to deal with it now! Join the discussion.

03/14 Dr. Phil Now: Fly Girls

Quote From: bozoclown

I hardly believe an airline would ban someone from flying simply because a person looks "decent", etc..

The obscene gestures and profanity sounds more like the reaons and I DON't BLAME THEM! KUDOS to the airline!!!

This country has gone to the garbage dumps with  profanity and obscenities  - it's SICK and DISGUSTNG! A movie can't even be made anymore without all the garbage being spouted! Does Hollywood really think people like watching and listening to that DUNG?!

The "looking young" thing has gone way overboard, too! I doubt if God recognizes most of His Creations out there in Hollywood anymore. A lot of money is making all the doctors filthy rich and I hope they're enjoying it. God says it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a RICH person to get into Heaven. That's something to think about! Also, "to whom much is given - MUCH IS REQUIRED." I don't think giving to charities has anything to do with that statement, either.

SEX crimes occur more than ever and WHY NOT? Walk around half naked and you're asking for it! That's TEENS as well as women! Look at the TRASH they're wearing! If you don't respect yourself it's for sure no one else is going to! Of course the designers are laughing all the way to the bank, too - selling all the trashy threads they're "designing" What a crazy, sick country we have become!

Sex crimes are not about the way women are dressed.

oh good lord not again

Havent we had enough of these so called "pretty girls"?  I say so called because if anyone has seen them on with their many videos they are ANYTHING by pretty - not even remotely.  Kyle started this type of behavior with her baseless lawsuit and temper tantrum and now we have to endure these two spoiled brats?  Yeah thanks but I know where my delete button is on my DVR - I could barely stomach Kyla the first time she was on and I sure dont want to hear or watch her multiplied into 3 of the exact same mindset and brains.  As for there is also a rebuttal video out there from a gal representing the airlines.

Get into the real world gorls - it wasnt your looks that got ya booted - it was your mouth and disrespetful attitude and I hope the audience at Dr Phil rips you to shreds and tell you flat out that you "ain't all that"

Sarah & Nisreen

These little pathetic girls didn't get thrown of SWA for "looking decent" and the flight attendants being middle aged didn't have anything to do with it.  They were probably drunk off their a**, being obscene, showing their junk and trying to get some poor schmo to have sex with them in the bathroom.  If you're going to act like trash, expect to be taken out to the corner.

I'm not saying dress in a burka, but you can dress so that your boobs and va-jay-jay aren't hanging out and still look cute and not like a stripper.  But that doesn't get the guys to buy you alcohol.  And being considerate of others in your surroundings isn't as fun as being an annoying look-at-me-because-I-have daddy-issues girl.  Ugh, theyre the worst.

bad behavior

Quote From: armidao

I'm not saying that these things did not happen to these girls, but I have traveled numerous times from Las Vegas, NV. and back and have seen, teens and women with hardly anything on fly out of and into Las Vegas, and have not seen them treated any differently.  There have even been Stripperscoming in to work for the weekend or leaving and are barely dressed, and I have never seen an attendant treat them any different.  On the other hand I have seen some barely dressed teens and women, enibriated and making an ass of themselves, and have heard the flight attendants ask them to "please tone it down:, or "clean up their language", or "their are xhildren on this flight".  I've even seen these enibriated girls go as far as trying to get elderly mens attention, and then when they do they would start flashing thier boobs and then laugh and say "don't you wish you can touch these or suck on these", sit with their mini skirts on and have thier legs wide open. I could go on but I will stop with those two incidents.   I've never heard a flight attendant be rude, but who's to say they are not out there.   I'm sure there are plenty, but I have yet to experience it.  But like I said in the beginning I'm not say that these things did not happen to these girls.

I personally dont know when it became acceptable to get on an airline at all while drinking - can we, as a society, not do ANYTHING any more with drinking being involved?  People talk all the time about smoking being bad for the second hand smoke well sorry but drunks invade my space in much the same manner - not healthwise but still, the invasion is there.  I can't go to a concert - which I go to alot for my one guilty pleasure - and I have yet to go to one where some drunk women and men aren't sitting around me knocking people over and just generally making a scene.  Last time was 2 women - not kids mind you - but late 40's - and drunk on their proverbial butts all nite long smacking me in the back while dancing, knocking my hat off (country music star so cowboy hat) and on and on for almost the whole show until I finally turned to one of the husbands or booyfriends, whatever, and told him to put a leash on his woman.  To spend 95 bucks for enjoyment and then get so drunk to not even be able to remember the songs or the show AND to make others miserale in the mean time is just stupid and people on airplanes should not be allowed to drink and fly.

I was kicked off of a Delta flight in Atlanta Georgia when my connecting flight was getting ready to board in early February and the gal in front of me and I were talking on the tarmac - and the other gal made a comment about the plane being a "puddle jumper" and I merely laughed and said something to the effect of yeah dont ya love it ?  And that was IT !  Minutes after I took my seat I was told I had to leave the plane - they said we would "discuss" the reason outside on the tarmac - well a discussion involves two people exchanging ideas - usually anyway - in this case I was told I would not fly and that I was a danger to other passengers with my "attitude" about the small plane - I tried to explain that I hadnt been the one to say it but I got told to "shut the F up" or I wouldnt be allowed on the flight 7 hours later either. As ridiculous as it was the other gal didnt even get talked to about what SHE had said - I was singled out probably because I was the one they could identify since my voice carries more and I was seated in the front of the plane.  So I had to sit in the airport for 7 hours, missed my car rental reservation and hotel reservation also and when I got back to the gate 7 hours later - SEVEN HOURS???  I was met with the same players in the original incident standing around the gate and following my up to my seat - staring at me dead on and not even trying to hide it - while waiting for the flight to be called - almost as if they were just waiting for me to even blink the wrong way or say something to one of them.

I will NEVER fly with Delta again - oh and not just because of that but because I have a birth defect in my spine that doesnt allow for long periods of standing (more than 10 minutes and I am in pain) - and in spite of having made a wheelchair request at each leg of my flight I never saw one - instead the one time that I actually even saw a wheelchair - several of them actually - they took some other people in them and when I asked why the flight attendant told me that they had claimed them first so I asked what names they had for the passenger and they did have mine but the other people were old and as one flight attendant looked me straight in the face (I am 50 and seemingly healthy looking) and said well funny but you dont LOOK handicapped - just lazy!  Excuse me ?  But a flight attendant - or anyone else for that matter - has xray vision and can see my steel pins in my back from two previous surgeries ?  Yeah well - again - Delta is the worst in customer service.

Complete idiots!

I already posted under the ettiquette show. These girls really need to get over themselves! I have a body exactly like the girl who got kicked off the airplane for dressing too risque. I would never dress like that in public! As I said in my last post...these girls need a good swift kick in the a$$ and that's about it! You all think you are way better than you actually are! Dr. Phil needs to tell them to "Get REAL"!!!! My mood is "embarrassed" for this comment, and the embarrassment is for these idiot women!

fly girls

I feel that peek a boo cloths have no place on an airline.  If you want to advertise for sex or just boost your ego do it else where.  You will change your mind when you have kids.  The stars have more respect for them selves and others than our BROKEN teen and 20 yr old girls do. Morality is in the TOILET, what shame.  Young parents what are you Thinking???

Are you kidding??

These snot nosed brats are getting just what they set out to get. Attention. Lucky for them I was not a Marshal or police officer on their flight. I would have arrested them for being terrorist. Too cute? Look in the mirror Chickie's. Cute is a two year old saying I love you, not making rude and offensive gestures or using disgusting language. Hard to say grow up when I'm sure they learned this from parents,

Lazy Language

I dated this guy for a little while in which his mother and I did not get along very well.

We were young adults and of course used language that did not present our selves well.

The one thing that his mother taught me when I used the F-Bomb was it was a sign of a lazy mind and I agreed with her.  Although it offfended me because of the way we treated eachother I still took it as something learned.  I guess everyone has something to teach us even if you do not like that person.

If you are not smart enough to express your self with out using that kind of language it says something about you.  You should be able to be clever enough to get your point across with out swearing.

What clothes are made for ...

What clothes are made for ...
Clothes exist to protect our body and, as such, vary according to climate.  Secondarily, clothes also convey an image of who we are.  When men want to make a very good impression, they wear a suit and tie, which pretty much covers them entirely, leaving exposed only the face and hands.  When men want to make a fairly good impression, they wear pants, a nicely ironed shirt, with or without tie; or a polo type shirt, neat and unwrinkled, and maybe docker style pants, nicely ironed.  When women want to make a very good impression, should they expose 2/3 of their cleavage and wear a big cross pendant?  When women want to convey an image of respectability, should they allow anyone to be able to draw the contours of their body?  I think that it's entirely possible to look cute, presentable and feminine without conveying an image of being easy, even on vacation.   When parents abdicate their responsibility to teach their children how to present themselves, this leads to all kinds of weird choices.

I remember, one time, when a little niece came to visit for a couple of days.  We had planned to take her out downtown with us, and go to a lot of different places, the Cathedral, a restaurant, take a tour bus and show her downtown points of interest.  On that day, my niece, who at the time was about 9 years old, appeared dressed in leopard tights and looked something like a wannabe-hooker.  I told her that this wasn't suitable for the types of places that we had in mind, and that she should wear something more respectable and maybe even consider throwing away the leopard tights.  She did, and dressed decently, and we spent a wonderful day with her.  When she got home, she told her mom that we *hated* those leopard tights of hers and told us that she should throw them out.  : )  Her mother hadn't even thought to teach her that some things can be worn at home, in private, but are not suitable for going out in public.

I don't think that attractive women should wear potato sacks and hide their figure, but there is a big margin between a potato sack and just a bra and panties.  I am getting very tired of seeing all the movie stars showing up dressed worse (more scantily) than if they were nude, and feel disrespected when, for the 1,000th time, a star is seen on screen with most of her skin outside her clothes.

I recall a comment that Dr Phil made on The Late Show with David Letterman, one time, asking where things are going to go next, given that it's never been worse.  What's the next step?  Aggressing everyone else with unsolicited nudity?

Human beings are only human and tend to evaluate someone on outward appearance, nobody can deny this.  If you want to be perceived as respectable, you have to dress respectably.  Thank God for winter, here in Canada, if someone exposes 2/3 of their breast, they'll likely end up with pneumonia, and think about it before they go out again without dressing properly.  : )
