(Original Air Date: 02/23) The story of Marie, Crissy and Jen continues. These three potential adoptive mothers were scammed by Melissa, a woman who claimed to be pregnant with a child meant for them. When the baby turned out to be a fraud, they say they and several others were left with nothing but a handful of lies and a nursery full of heartache. Melissa agreed to meet Crissy face to face, but can Dr. Phil convince her to give the same satisfaction to her other two accusers? Follow what happens when Melissa succumbs to an emotional meltdown. Plus, having been badly burned in their efforts to adopt, what’s next for Marie, Crissy and Jen? Can they ever build enough trust to enter the adoption arena again? Hear what Dr. Phil thinks they should do. Plus, find out what happened to another couple desperate to adopt after the Dr. Phil show gave their efforts a little boost. Join the discussion!

I can't wait for this show.

I can't wait to see these two shows on the adoption scam.  I pray that by having this show others can see signs of cons and stop these heartless women from doing this to other women.

Are these women going to prosecute Melissa?  Conning someone is bad enough, but conning women who want children?  That's just wrong...Conners should be behind bars with the rest of society's scum.

A second Part?

Two parts? This should make for good television.

I don't see how the scammer can wiggle her way out of doing time.

I can't wait to see these shows.

Adoption Scams

I am so glad these stories are finally being shown.  Marie, Jen and Crissy you three have taken our fight to the networks now.  I just hope this helps to bring more victims out because we will all be together and strong in Court.

You don't know how hard this is until you have been trampled on especially by someone who was a friend and then to find out you are the only local victim.  I have to put up with a small town of people who think this woman did nothing wrong.  Thank you Dr. Phil for hopefully making these people watch your show and see her on it and know that someone just doesn't appear on your show for no reason.

adoption scams

My husband and I wanted to adopt a baby boy, but not having enough money to adopt overseas and not wanting to go through an adoption agency we went with Fost-adopt. We take in foster kids who need homes. Our one foster son has been with us for a year and a half, and we will be adopting him with in the next year. We have had some babies who come and then go to live with a parent or other relative. It is hard when they have to go, but we knew about fostering before we got involved. I wish that more people who wanted kids would look into fost-adopt there are so many babies, kids, and teenagers out there that need homes. My heart goes out to the three women who have been scamed, and I hope that they will get a baby to have as their own.

Mellissa Should Be Put In Jail

That girl, Mellissa should be prosecuted. That is a terrible thing to do to someone that can't have kids of their own. What goes around, comes around, and I can't wait until she gets hers.

Human Race

I hope to marry a wonderful man who has adopted a mixed-race child. He and I are white (as is his ex). His daughter is a mix of two other races. It was not so hard for him and his ex-wife to adopt her as a newborn as it would have been to adopt a caucasian baby. I know most people want to adopt a newborn that resembles them, but I strongly recommend adopting within the Human Race as opposed to our own little corners of it. Every child deserves a home. If you truly want a child and not just a substitute for the one you could not have (and for that I'm truly sorry), then please consider adopting across races.

It was not easy for these two people: some of their family members did mind about the race, but as Dr. Seuss said, "Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter." It is quite true. (Some of my friends won't like it when we marry--oh well!)  Adopt the Indonesian orphans from the Tsunami. Adopt the African American babies...the Asian babies... I would if I didn't subsist on a teacher's salary!!

what right

I am a mother of two boys who are eight and three and I am only 27. I am the oldest of three girls in my family and two of us already have kids (each of us have 2).My middle sister cannot have kids on her own and is now seeking help from a specialist to concieve. She and her husband are great people and would do any thing to have just one baby and here sits someone who claims to be helping people who cannot carry or concieve!! What in the world would make someone think it is okay to play on someone's emotions when it comes to such an important issue for so many couples? I am outraged at her thought process of humilation for the outcome of her actions that she has brought upon herself. She should be ashamed of the cruelty that goes with playing on someones love to have a child. I not only have two kids already but have also had three miscarriages and would carry a child for my own sister but I can't due to my own complications of my last miscarriage. I just do not get how any one could do what this woman has done and I would not and could not blame the families that were affected if they chose to not forgive this woman for being so hurtful and decietful to people.

Reverse Adoption Scam

Please don't forget the scam by adoptive parents on the mothers who trustingly give up their children to adoption agencies and have them end up in abuse and neglect.  The back ground check and waiting period take a very long time and still a child can end up with people who shouldn't even have a puppy.  Why not include required random drug testing, polygraph and parenting counseling during the waiting period also?
