(Original Air Date: 04/06/06) Dr. Phil speaks to people who are searching for the perfect body. Gina admits to an obsession with plastic surgery and has a long wish list of procedures she'd like to have done in her quest for perfection. Her fiancé, Jason, finds her the picture of perfection and says she needs to stop. With their wedding on the horizon, second thoughts are creeping into Jason's mind. Then, Michael's wife, Christy, repulses him and he can't even kiss her. Christy is trying to lose weight so she can look attractive for her husband, but his repulsion makes her feel unworthy. Should Christy lose weight and try to look more like a model, or should Michael accept her just the way she is? Talk about the show here.

Gina is like the "Stupid Girls" video by Pink

There are a lot of women out there who help encourage men to think this way because of their shallow values. I love that song "Stupid girls" by Pink. Hits the nail on the head ;-)

Put Downs Used For Control

My ex-husband was overweight & drank at least 6 to eight cans of beer each evening.Since beer didn't  get him drunk fast enough,he also drank shots of gin to enhance the drunkenness,The bloated,uneducated,smelly,foul-mouthed,cry-baby w/ crooked, yellow teeth criticized me from the time I woke to the time I went to bed.

My cooking was awful,he called me "thunder thighs" though I was a size 6-8 & he was teetering at 300 LB.Nothing I did was up to par w/ him.I couldn't drive a car, clean the house or speak a sentence that he didn't make fun of.He told me that I had a "double chin" & "flabby upper arms" as well as a "huge gut".   I left his worthless, lying ass in Syracuse,NY almost twenty years ago.He has been arrested many times for DUI & drugs and he lives w/ his mommy.(They live like hillbillys ,everyone sleeps on the floor in front of the tv & they all have poor hygeine habits as well as are in debt despite having  good jobs and won frivilous lawsuits)I recently heard that he was 'drunk & stupid" at the 30th class reunion & STILL blames me for all his problems.

Moral of the story:if someone just can't stand you and has to nit pick every little thing you do,it's not you-it's them!LEAVE and save yourself while you can.

Blind Date

I was once set up with a blind date to go to a country dance. The day after the dance the man came to my house and said he wished to take me for a drive. He wasn't a total stranger exactly. We had grown up in the same area and had, through the years, heard much about each other. On the drive he told me that I wasn't the type of woman he wanted because I was overweight (20 lbs.) NOW HEAR THIS:   The guy was skinny as a rail and had, maybe, 6 teeth. That's the real double standard!

04/06 Plastic People

I think every woman wants to look better. I also think that first before getting a procedure like plastic surgery she should try everything within her own power to look better and then if all else fails plastic surgery should be the last alternative. She should do it for herself because if she does it to impress someone else she will resent that person and will never be happy with herself. Love yourself first and then if you want to tweak your image here or there go for it.

Oh My God!!

If this first female on todays show could walk a week in my shoes.........  I have had to have 2 modified radical vulvectomies due to vulvar cancer, instead of a Radical Vulvectomy, because I didn't want to lose that part of me that was so defining of being female.  I no longer have that part of me because through the 2 surgeries I ended up losing all of that...  If  she only knew how much self-esteem this has taken from me I bet she would think differently....   I am 49 years old and have never been married and now throw this cancer into the equation and dating is even less.  Men run when they hear what I have gone through and what all it has caused....  Yes, I am in the attempt of having Reconstructive Surgery but this is for ME not for some man....   Let her walk in the shoes of a cancer patient, a burn patient, a person who has been in a serious accident; I bet they would love to have a face lift, a tummy tuck, a brow lift, etc......  And you know what?  This first female on the show today may already be beautiful but I will take all of these other people over her because these people are truly beautiful people without botox, lypo or whatever else there may be...  Why can't she see the beauty inside of her?  That is what makes the outer part beautiful.  I had heard this all of my life and never understood what it meant until I was diagnosed with cancer and went through all that I have.  I am beautiful inside and if someone can't except me for who I am then no amount of plastic surgery is going to change their opinion.   I hope this all made sense!!!!

get real!

Someone better tell ALL of these poeple that beauty is on the INSIDE!!! HELLO???????????/

if that chick that spent $60,000 to get "beautiful" and feel good about herself..if she gave $60,000 to poor people or a charity that helps people or she spent her money doing good for poeple....she'd feel beautiful about herself....

Who is going to be the one to tell Christie that she is obese?  I am so tired of hearing I have tried every diet and it does not work.  It is very simple.  If you consume 3000 calories and do not exercise, it shall turn into fat.  You cut back your calorie intake and exercise religiously, the weight will come off.

I can't believe Dr. Phil did not point this out.  You are not doing Christie any favors by not pointing out diet and exercise do work.

For Christy RE: Weight

I felt so bad hearing Christy's story.  If Christy or anyone close to her reads this, please tell her to look into a disorder called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome if she has not already. This disorder causes extreme weight gain in women & other heath problems. It needs to be controlled with the help of a doctor. My sister had it & was only able to find out by going to a fertility specialist. After she was diagnosed she lost 100 lbs in 1 year! Good luck, I hope this gets to her. And her husband needs to have a little more respect for her by the way.,

to the second woman on the show today...

I understand why you get upset with your husband and that you feel bad about yourself about that... I get it, because I would too.  BUT PLEASE, TRY TO UNDERSTAND you are beautiful!  And I am so glad that you said you want to get "help" for YOURSELF!  NOT for him.  Please don't let him tell you that you are not a beautiful person.   You are wonderful if you want to be wonderful.  And, get this... From what I have found, is that when someone tells you to do something over and over and over again, it makes you want to do the complete opposite.  But hey, good for you for coming on the show and looking for an understanding and help.  :)

And to the people who think that people who don't look PERFECT all the time...

I wouldn't judge people so quickly...  You don't know what people are going through in their lives... Health issues, money, stress, depression, etc.  I don't know what you believe in, but I truly believe that it is not our place on this earth to judge others.  I worry about myself and my family and friends.  Not people I don't know.  And I NEVER worry about peoples looks... Just their health and happiness.  I AM a person who does my makeup everyday and I go to the gym everyday... But I don't care if anyone else does that.  Nor do I think that people who don't do that are lazy.  It's not my life, it's theirs.  I realize that I am lucky to have the opportunity to go to the gym everyday, and have makeup and the time to do it... But I WILL NOT judge others, because I have been in the position where I did not have the time nor the money to do either... So please, step down off of your high horse and worry about yourselves...

Message to cristy

I would like to say I truly know how cristy feels. I have gained from 130- 180 in the last 5 or 6 years due to a combination of several different factors. That doen't change who I am inside. My husband, too, is very verbal about his discontent with my weight, I usually am able not to take it to heart, but sometimes... I have tried repeatedly to lose weight, and I feel that I have tried everything possible, it seems that nothing will work for me. My goal to lose weight is not for him, it is for ME!! My family has a history of heart disease, and the extra weight has put added stress on a knee injury that I have. But I hope you are able to do it, you are very pretty.
